The story of a seagull and the cat who taught her to fly

 mha.jpg

Another good book for my kids has been contributed to the big library I will have and dream of :P. I always dream about one day when I can read for my lovely kids good books which can tell them in gentle and mild ways how to live right and become benevolent people. There are many books sold in book shops nowadays but not many good new books for children are found. This book made me feel touched for simple but very humane things which teach people to love and respect ones who are different from us. The beautiful story was written under the eyes of a person who has a great love with kids so it is full of lovely situations about kids’ expression and the process they are growing up which is wrapped in the story about a seagull and cats. Very lovely and sweet! Love it and love to think about my children too. How will they look like? :D

Truly Madly Yours- Rachel Gibson

Just finished this book during my work trip. I really see me and my feelings in some situations of the main character’s stories :D . I can’t say its an excellent book but it’s really an entertaining book which can help you to speak out a lot of very “human” feelings and desire that you have in real life, you experience but are not brave enough to speak out…

I used to hear a fun comment (or a complain:) ) that: women like reading love stories but they don’t like to be in love. (or “(the) woman only likes reading love stories. She doesn’t like to be in love”.. I don’t remember exactly :D)… It’s not true :). They (she) want to be in love and they (she) read love stories to be more (or deeper) in love:):p.

To be honest, if i didn’t read so many romance books, I would be a very boring person! Because from the nature i am a coward, simple and naive (foolish) girl  .

From books I learn to be smarter, gain more knowledge as well as build better sense of humor. Recommend you read this book to be clear about what i said.:)

“Do you want the truth?”
“Yes.”
“Okay.” He reached for her hand and kissed her palm. “You look better than you did when you were a Smurf.”
A wrinkle appeared in the corners of his eyes, and Delaney felt a rush of warm tingles tickle her fingertips and spread across her breasts. This was the Nick she loved. The Nick who teased as he kissed. The man who could make her laugh even as he made her want to cry. “I should have asked you to lie”.

The bell above the door rang as Delaney emptied the hair into a trash basket. She heard a collective intake of female breath from the other work stations and the thud of boots.
“Can I help you?”
“Thanks,” said an achingly familiar voice. “I found what I’m looking for.”
She turned and looked at Nick an arm’s length away. “What do you want?”
“I want to talk to you.”
He’d cut his hair short. One dark lock curled and touched his brow. He took her breath away.
“I’m busy.”
“Give me five minutes.”
“Do I have a choice?” she asked, fully expecting him to say no, so she could then tell him to go to hell.

He shifted his weight to one foot and shoved his hands in the front pockets of his jeans.
“Yes.”
His answer threw her and she turned to Ali, who worked at the next station. “I’ll be back in five minutes,” she said and walked toward the door. With Nick right behind her, she walked into the hall and stopped beside a pay telephone. “You’ve got five minutes.” She leaned back against the wall and folded her arms over her breasts.
“Why did you leave town in such a hurry?” Read the rest of this entry »

Tottochan- The little girl at the window

–Tetsuko Kuroyanagi–

I am so happy that I have the soft English version of this book. Its one of the most interesting books for children Ive ever read! Children must love this book but for sure adults, especially parents, love it too ’cause it not only tells you how lovely kids are but also teaches you how to give benevolent looks at kids and how to love children tenderly.

I’ll extract some small pieces of the stories to post here so that you will have some ideas about it before accessing to the full PDF version posted at the end of this entry.

—***—

His Bride
Totto-chan was very sad.
She was in third grade now and she liked Tai-chan a lot. He was clever and good at physics. He studied English, and it was he who taught her the English word for fox.
“Totto-chan,” he had Said, “do yoU know what the English word for kitsune is? It’s ‘fox.’ ”
“Fox.”
Totto-chan had luxuriated in the sound of that word all day long. After that, the first thing she always did when she got to the classroom-in-the train was to sharpen all the pencils in Tai-chan’s pencil box as beautifully as she could with her penknife. She didn’t bother about her own, which she just hacked at with her teeth.
In spite of all that, Tai-chan had spoken roughly to her. It happened during lunch break. Totto-chan was sauntering along behind the Assembly Hall in the region of chat notorious cesspool.
“Totto-chan!”
Tai-chan’s voice sounded cross, and she stopped, startled. Pausing for breath, Taichan said, “When I grow up, I’m not going to marry you, no matter how much you ask me to.” So saying, he walked off, his eyes on the ground.
Totto-chan stood dazed, watching until he and his large head disappeared from view. That head full of brains that she admired so much. That head that looked so much bigger than his body the children used to call him “The Improper Fraction.”
Totto-chan put her hands in her pockets and thought. She could not remember doing anything to annoy him. In desperation she talked it over with her classmate Miyochan.
After listening to Totto-chan, Miyo-chan said, maturely, “Why, of course! It’s because you threw Tai-chan out of the ring today at sumo wrestling. It’s not surprising he flew out of the ring the way he did because his head’s so heavy. But he’s still bound to be mad at you.”
Totto-chan regretted it with all her heart. Yes, that was it. What on earth made her beat the boy she liked so much She Sharpened his pencils every day! But it was too late. She could never be his bride now.
“I’m going to go on sharpening his pencils all the same,” Totto-chan decided. “After all, I love him.”

“Look before You Leap!”
On the way home from school, just as she had almost reached home, Totto-chan discovered something enticing by the side of the road. It was a huge pile of sand. How extraordinary to find sand there, so far from the sea! Was she dreaming! Tottochan was thrilled. After a preliminary little hop she ran at great speed toward the pile of sand and leaped onto its summit. But it wasn’t sand after all! Inside, it was a heap of Read the rest of this entry »

It’s big world and there’s lots to be done- Kim Woo Choong

img_5695.jpg

Love story- Erich Segal

lovestory.jpg

“Love means not ever having to say you’re sorry”

A lot of young people’ve learned by heart the quote from this famous novel and considered it as a motto for their love. But the novel is more than things about love. You can find it after reading “Love story”, linked below.

Click here to read the book

The novel was novelized from the movie of the same name (1970). The tagline of the movie is “Love means never having to say you’re sorry”. This movie is also considered as one of the most romantic, sentimental and tear-jerking movies ever in the cinema history.

Enjoy!
